Darla Bostick – 2016 Art Calendar, Spring Portugal Tour, Watercolor classes, Ghost Ranch Workshop / Retreat

This is my 6th year to offer a beautiful calendar of heavy card-stock that shares 12 of my paintings. Many of the images in the calendar have been accepted into juried art exhibitions, solo shows and printed works–some even won awards!! This is by far the most reasonable way to enjoy my art work.

We will begin our adventure with arrival in Lisbon on Friday, 8 April (you will need to leave home the day before!). Our villa is in the Algarve region of Portugal along the southern coastal area in Albufiera. Each of us will have our own bed, but will share a bedroom. We have the flexibility to prepare our breakfast at “home” then we head out for the day with sketchbooks or small paint blocks and cameras. The goal of the trip is to gather images primarily with our cameras. Every day we will explore a new village and take an hour out to rest/relax/sketch or paint. The plan is to eat out once a day–if we picnic for lunch we buy dinner out, if we eat lunch out then we prepare dinner at the villa (maybe on the grill). Your meals are not incuded in the price but we keep expenses low. Tentatively, it includes Evora, Sagres, Alte, Faro and Albufiera, Monchique, Lisbon and the gypsy market in Loule’! As the itinerary develops there may be some changes.

Plans are still under construction but the ballpark figure is $2000 each for the 10 days and includes the car rental, lodging and admissions. join anytime! Learn to paint…or improve from the level where you are now! I teach at Hobby Lobby in Denton 9:30-noon (but we usually bring a lunch and we stay until 1 or 2pm) on Fridays. The payment is unique~~buy a card for $150 which entitles you to 6 classes. Each time you come, the card is validated. (So you don’t pay for classes you miss!)
